15 minute rounds. This should be interesting with the way the site is breaking down on us right now.

I'll be defending the Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape training (SERE) that our US military goes through. My opponent will be saying that we should not be giving our soldiers this training. Burden of proof is shared.

My sole argument, essentially, is that there's not a whole lot of reasons not to give our soldiers this training. The threat of abduction is real, and those soldiers who are at risk of abduction and required to receive SERE training are usually those who have information to offer that we would rather not give to our enemies. Any advantage we can give to our soldiers in resisting is a massive benefit.

Also, this is not me shirking my BOP. In the case of there not being a sufficient reason to not provide this training, the training provides some sort of benefit, thus being the case of me fulfilling my burden of proof. This means my opponent has to be winning some reason why we would not institate this training, you affirm the resolution.

I await my opponent's arguments.
