when we work with vulnerable adults we have an obligation to safeguard them from harm and abuse. If we have already had an internal investigation and still have a concern,we have a duty of care to report that concern to safeguarding. Some may say that this will be a waste of time and resources, however who would not report an concern because they thought it would take up too much time..i would appreciate your comments and opinions.I am due to deliver a debate on this subject and would appreciate different takes on this debate...

I disagree with your statement due to my previous work experience this is because not all services users concerns are relating to safegarding issues. While working within domiciliary care work as a senior carer many issues services users had where things that could be resolved quickly by listening to there concerns and addressing the issues. The most common concern I came across was if a regular carer was on annual leave. I do agree that concerns expressed by services users should be looked at by management.

Thank you for your comments..and I do agree that all issues do not need to be reported to safeguarding, however if we are saying that we have a concern is that not different..if you have a genuine concern then do we not have a duty of care to report this. The CQC quote on their website that"if you have a concern regarding a child or vulnerable adult then this should be reported to the appropriate safeguarding ".If we have people like CQC saying this..then is this not what we should do?
