McNichol

Pro

I believe that the biggest target range is children. When your looking at supplying an easy, persuasive age group with a product you produce, your going to be looking at marketing towards children
Lickdafoot

Con

My opponent is saying that companies should market towards children. He is not specifying any type of company, so it is assumed that he is referring to all companies.

No, not all companies should market towards children. Some things are inappropriate for children. Cigarettes and Alcohol are two companies that should not market towards children because it is morally ill-disposed. It is harmful for children to be exposed to alcohol and cigarettes, and marketing companies could exploit their impressionable nature by marketing towards them. This marketing strategy could backfire and make the masses less inclined to purchase the product because now the morality of the company is in question.

1. Adult Film
2. Car Rentals
3. Life/Car/Homeowner's Insurance
4. Adult Diapers
5. Lawyers
6. Real Estate

Change the resolution so that it makes a more definitive statement and I may take this.

Try not to put your resolution in the form of a question. Make a statement then chose a side.

Reasons for voting decision: Conduct to Con because of forfeit. Arguments to Con because she effectively refuted Pro's resolution. The resolution was too broad so Con was left to pick and choose which companies she wanted to talk about which she did effectively. Easy win for Con. Sources: Con's source actually provided some credible background for her argument, whereas Pro provided no sources.
