A person who is forced to go against their habits will most often go back to their old habits. Depressing thoughts can not be extinguished, however if the person chooses to help themselves, then that is to their favor.

Rules are unclear-please clarify.

I think I have a solid argument to oppose yours, but I am unsure about rule 1, and if I qualify to accept this...

By "experience with cutting yourself" does this mean I personally had to have self-harmed at some point? Or does simply being around people who have self-harmed in the past count as enough.

And also, for whoever is debating this, would they be debating whether specifically cutting one's wrists is grounds for hospitalization, or whether self-harm in general warrants hospitalization?

...Really? You're actively asking for someone to out themselves as so depressed that they have cut themselves as a result, perhaps even with the aim of committing suicide? No one like that will accept this debate, and anyone else is unlikely to accept for fear of being associated with such instability.
