students should be aloud to pick the subjects they want to study it makes them more mature and gets them ready to start thinking about their future. although some may want to stay with their friends if there is no progress in the class they are in they can be pulled out and choose another subject, if they keep doing this the student is most likely to find a subject they are confident in.

School provides a variety of classes for the students to learn from. Each class serves a purpose. It allows the student to find a subject that they are comfortable with. Later on that student will focus directly on that subject and mastering it to prepare for a career or job. In a sense, they are allowed to choose the subject they want to study.

You have core classes in school that you must take. English, math, science, and a social studies/sciences class. After those classes have been chosen then you get to choose your classes. So actually, students do get to pick their classes.
