i think that teachers should be allowed to carry armed weapons to protect any children from being harmed in a school shooting. I do think that the guns should be somewhere where the children (no matter what age) should be allowed NO access to the fire arms.

Nice to meet you.

I just wanted to raise few questions before debate begins in my first round.

1. What does it mean to "allow"? Are we saying we are requiring all teachers to be armed with a simple pistol at all times? Gun rights are already promised in US (if we are going to debate this in the US) which means teachers are already allowed to carry a weapon with permit. For the fair debate, I suggest setting the definition as requiring teachers to be armed.

2. Will this debate be set in the US?

3. What kind of being "armed" are we suggesting here?

I think since Pro is negating the status quo, he is required to bear the burden of proof.

I ask Pro to just directly answer these questions to set the debate in his second round and proceed with his argument directly.

This round was met with a forfeit. I will patiently wait for my opponent to post her argument in the next argument. I understand it is her first time on DDO.

It seems like my opponent gave up. As I've mentioned, I will argue some basic points about this topic at the final round.

There are many reasons why teachers should not be allowed to be armed.

I will simply list few and will omit the explanation and examples since my opponent forfeited as well.

1. There is a danger of accident. Ironically, this danger might increase the risk of children being shot in school than the risk of status quo.

2. All the teachers will have to be trained for gun usage.

3. In case of another mass shooting incident in school, teachers are not likely to be able to succeed in shooting the shooter but instead, cause higher level of anger and craziness on the shooter.

4. Keeping those firearm is also a problem. How will we make sure that teachers have the firearm with them when an intrusion takes place?

That would be all. Thank you.
