should teachers help year 12's in their study
Debate Rounds (2)
1. Stating the obvious here but the students are still just that, students. They (and us) will remain this way for the rest of their lives. The only difference between being a student in high school and being a student out in the world is we have to decide who we learn from and who to ignore out in the world.
2. A teacher does not create the idea of reliance within a student. I have learned many things from my teachers only due to the fact that I was willing to listen and put in the work. A teacher can assign work, it is up to the student to do the work; that is "fending" for themselves. The way the student-teacher system works is almost identical to that of how a employee-employer system works. So continuing the year 12 system helps prepare the students even better for their future lives.
I would like to respond to your "we have no teachers in the real world only cruel people" statement, can you please elaborate.
