Sight cannot be the speed of light. The speed of light is 299,792,458 m/s and is written as C. Though the speed is affected from traveling through different mediums such as water, air or glass. The rate that light travels through a transparent medium is determined by the refractive index of the material, N; V=C/N. The refractive index of air is about 1.0003 meaning that the maximum speed of light traveling through air is 299,702,547 or about 90 km/s less than the speed of light. Since light traveling through air is not traveling at the speed of light, sight cannot be the speed of light!

Or is it the other way around, no sight-no light. If something cannot see that doesnt mean that light doesnt exist!

vi_spex makes a valid point here, to be honest. no light, no sight. Though air may provide friction to air, you being able to see is the speed of the light into your eyes.

What about light that physically cannot be seen by the human eye such as:

X-Rays
Gamma Rays
Ultraviolet
Microwaves
Radio Waves

They're all still considered light. If sight was at the speed of light, then we would be able to view these rays of light. Not to mention human eyes aren't the fastest ways to detect motion in the first place.

Reasons for voting decision: Con used statistics and actual numbers to support his case, while Pro relied entirely on his intuition not based on evidence. Probably a troll debate this was
