Should alcohol companies be sued for health related problems?

For the purposes of this debate i assume we are talking about suing in the American court system for health problem caused by the consumption of alcohol, not something else those companies did, such as scam investors. giving that the person making the lawsuit would have to demonstrate that the alcohol company owes money to the victim i will let pro go first

i am actually concerned about suing them for damages caused by consumption of alcohol . the same way tobacco companies are being sued for tobacco health related problems, alcohol companies should also be sued for illnesses caused by alcohol

The consumer is fully aware of the risks associated with alcohol. Pro has offered no argument in support of a lawsuit so she has not fulfilled her burden of proof, vote con.

Pro had the burden of proof and made no case. Pro loses conduct for forfeiting R2.

Any number of products can be misused by the consumer. When dangers are evident, it's the consumer's fault.

wtf. Why would alcohol companies be sued for the effects of something that one buys on purpose consumes on purpose and knows its unhealthy? If the consumer gets sick or anything from it it is their fault, not the company's fault.

People that purchase and consume alcohol-based products are well-aware of their affects, and drink so voluntarily; therefore, they themselves are responsible for any resulting damages.

To affirm is to sue gun manufacturers for wars.
