I am totally against any attack on Iran.
in this day and age any diplomatic solution is better than outright war.
Main reason for not going to war:
The economic perspective
war with Iran will adversely affect not only the US economy but the world's economy. some countries such as Greece are still recovering from the economic melt down. the US is also not totally out of the woods. the economy is improving however is not yet totally stable. war at this time will cripple the economy and slow any progress.
Many people are still unemployed, the housing market is still in the slum and the country has huge debt from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. the country cannot afford another war at this time. the peoples money should be spent on the economic recovery that will benefit all Americans than on a war that will benefit just a few.
The US cannot afford a war at this time.

I am for a decisive and all out attack on the Country known as Iran.

Main Reason for going to war:

The Economic perspective

War with Iran will exorbitantly improve the States economy and the economy of the rest of the world. By invading Iran we will assure that its major oil companies are in the hands of pro-West owners, flourishing the US with wealth, and the rest of the Western World.

A war with Iran will not be very expensive-it could mainly be done by supplying dissidents to the Iranian state, and revolutionary groups with arms. Because of its totalitarian policies, more than plenty people and organisations are quite willing to purchase American arms (Further stimulating our economy) and go openly revolt if they are backed by the United States' military.

Iran has control over the straight of Hormuz, a tiny passage in the Persian Gulf where 20% of the worlds oil passes through. Iran has and will attempt to shut of passage of oil through this straight to America, which not only wounds all Western economies, but usually ends in bloodshed. They attempted to do so in 2008, and today there is more tension than ever. We need a decisive end to this conflict to prevent the continuous loss of life.

Second Reason: Achmadinijad and his quest for Nuclear Missiles.

Not only is Iran pressing for nukes to potentially bomb Israel, and certainly threaten them causing even more Global tension around Nuclear arms, but they are an irrational actor because of horrible leadership, Achmadinijad and the Iotola. If they acquire the nuclear weapons they are trying to develop, they may give them to non-state actors and terrorist groups who will surely use them against Western Civilizations.

Per the Con's economic argument

These arguments were similar to the economic expectations going into the Iraq war.
As you can see the war with Iraq led to the devastation of the economy. The invasion did not grantee control of their oil nor did it grantee we would profit from their oil . In fact, Iraq was a budget busting disaster for the US as it led to a higher national debt, deficit spending and increased bond sales to Asian banks. The US dollar also fell considerable against the Euro. Iraq's oil production was also affected as they were producing less oil after the war started. These events caused panic in the world's economy. Evidently The Iraq war did not improve our economy, in fact it led to the crash we experienced , the worst since the great depression. Therefore we cannot have these same failed economic expectations when proposing a possible Iran invasion.

The Iranians
supplying dissidents and revolutionary groups with arms as you suggests maybe be great in theory but could be proved to be very unrealistic in reality. Evident in Iraq when it was said we would be greeted as liberators. the Iranians may hate their Ayatollah which we actually created due to our meddling known as the 1953 Iranian coup d'tat, but I guarantee you that the moment war is waged they will come together and fight against the invading army. they do not have any love for the west.

As for your second Reason.
"Iran pressing for nukes to potentially bomb Israel" this is an assumption and not a fact. Iran insists their impending nuclear programme is for peaceful purposes. The region already has countries with nuclear weapons that are not sympathetic to Israel and infact may pose a bigger threat than Iran. Pakistan is one such country. Pakistan has nuclear weapons and is a very unstable country even more so than Iran. In fact Pakistan was were Osama Bin laden was living for years before we got him. Pakistan is also a breeding ground and home to these terrorist of which you speak of. I then ask why are we not as aggressive with a very unstable Pakistan which we know for a fact has nuclear weapons?

Nuclear Weapons already in the region
It should be noted that Pakistan acquired their nuclear weapons in response to their neighbour India who has nuclear weapon. these two nations hate each other , however they have not obliterated each other with their nuclear weapons. In the same principle if Israel has nuclear weapons why cant their neighbour Iran? who are we to say Iran cannot have their own?

Dejavu'
The united states has been down this road before, and is still feeling the consequences of actions based upon faulty information and rushed decisions. WMD anyone? I believe diplomacy and sanctions are best at this point. war is never the best policy when so many doubts exists.

In the words of Mahatma Gandhi - "I object to violence because when it appears to do good, the good is only temporary; the evil it does is permanent"
