The legal driving age shouldn't be raised because the young drivers today are the safest of all drivers. The young drivers with G1 or a G2 can't have any alcohol in their systems. The younger drivers also have stricter rules than regular drivers and they follow them. they are the safest. Also when you are younger you pick things up quicker and have more time to learn also they have to have cars for university or college so if the law is changed it would be harder to go to school.
I believe that the legal age to get a drivers permit not only in Canada but in other countries too, should be raised to 18 years old. First of all, when a person is 18, is certainly more mature than a person who is 16 and therefore more careful. Secondly, I have to disagree with your statement because now days, many teenagers from 13+ drink. (this is based on a general fact because maybe in Canada people don't drink from that age). Finally, I'd like to say that either you are 16 or 18 accidents happen and most of the time it's not the driver's fault. What I want to say is that an older and more mature person would handle a difficult situation like a car accident better than a teenager. (e.g. turn faster before another car crushes on him).
