Prove me wrong.

First off, I would like to thank my opponent for an "interesting" debate topic.

I will be negating the topic "The sky looks blue".

C1: Color blindness.

I for one am among the few of the population who is inept to see certain colors. So me given my predicament, can relate to those who can see very little colors. Given the fact that there are people (who either by accident, or by birth), who lack the ability to see color, it is not factual to say the sky looks blue for everyone. Thankyou.

I would like to define "look" as "to appear or seem to the mind" which means that its not our eyes seeing blue but our minds imagining blue, because as we know the sky is not actually blue but just appears that way. With this new kind of Positive Thinking we could change many things in today's society. In our case today in talking about whether or not the sky looks blue I would like to urge a pro vote.

Please note 500 character limit.

Our eyes perception create our minds perception. Given that blue is a color that can only be seen, our mind's eye will never know the sky is blue unless told so. Some one who is color blind would not know the distinction between a blue sky, and a void of nothingness lying above them.

But give my opponents logic, we have grown to learn the sky is blue. What if someone grew up to learn that the color blue to us was actually green? The sky then is green.

The sky doesn't always look blue. Infact, it can be grey, or red, dark. The sky isn't always blue, thus saying the sky is blue is an innacurate assumption. So we know the statement is false for, 1: color blind people. 2: people with different perceptions, and 3: the sky has many colors. I believe I have proven the above statement false, so please vote con. Also keep in mind the forfeit, very untimely. Thankyou for reading this short debate :)

This should have been an incredibly easy-win debate for Pro. It is a simple fact, due to the way the human brain processes visual information and the particular composition of our atmosphere, that the sky looks blue to someone, somewhere, at any given time. Autowin for Pro, had he given it the slightest thought.

Instead, he chose to babble about Positive Thinking, and then forfeit the whole debate. Stupid.

Reasons for voting decision: Although I disagree with Con's assessment of colour-blindness in Round 2, his Round 3 wins the debate.
