I believe that there is life out in space. whoever wants to debate con can. 1st and 2nd round state your side 3rd round rebuttal. The way I see it is we haven't even gotten all the way through our galaxy so how can we say with absolute certainty that there isn't life out there. Now going to some religious proof, Jesus Christ the proclamation to the world says that God created worlds. Key word worlds!

I do not believe there are aliens in our Universe. We have been on this Earth millions of years and though we are a fairly new species and have been around less than we know I think if there were aliens they would have shown up by now. Older research says that aliens may have been a plausible idea, but now they are just a figment of sci-fi tv. We have no proof and no evidence of aliens.

I can see where you are coming from, but for all we know the aliens could be like us and have not gotten far enough. If you think about it the universe is infinite, which means that there are an infinite amount of galaxies with an infinite amount of stars. Most of them with there own planets, so out of an infinite amount of planets how can we possibly say that there is not at least one other planet with life. We may not have proof that aliens exist, but at the same time we don't have proof that they don't exist. According to nasa.gov "If the count of planets in our solar system is not unusual, then there are more planets in the universe than the sum of all sounds and words ever uttered by every human who has ever lived. To declare that Earth must be the only planet in the cosmos with life would be inexcusably egocentric of us." Like I said before the universe is infinite, which means that there are an infinite amount of galaxies with an infinite amount of stars. Most of them with there own planets, so out of an infinite amount of planets how can we possibly say that there is not at least one other planet with life.

Even of there were aliens (and I'm not saying that there are) it would be impossible to find them. Because of the acceleration and expansion of the universe it would be impossible to get to anything outside our observable universe. The universe has been around for billions of years, if there was something out there we would have picked it up by now.

Stonhe4rt I just did some research and according to Joseph Silk "We do not know whether the Universe is finite or not. To give you an example, imagine the geometry of the Universe in two dimensions as a plane. It is flat, and a plane is normally infinite. But you can take a sheet of paper [an 'infinite' sheet of paper] and you can roll it up and make a cylinder, and you can roll the cylinder again and make a torus [like the shape of a doughnut]. The surface of the torus is also spatially flat, but it is finite. So you have two possibilities for a flat Universe: one infinite, like a plane, and one finite, like a torus, which is also flat." So the universe could be infinite and it could be finite, the truth is that we really don't know.

Stonehe4rt what you are saying makes sense. What i meant was that the universe is so big that we can't possibly say there is no life out there until we have actually reached the edge

Really a big part of this debate comes down to how BIG the universe really is. The Universe is defined as all Matter and Energy, so how far does existence go? If it is infinite then we can logically assume without a doubt that there is other life out in space, however if it is finite, then we cannot know for certain. It comes down to probability. There are about 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 Planets, And One, The Earth that we know has life. So every 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 Planets we can assume will have one Planet that sustains life. We have already found many planets that could sustain life right now.

Really a question that needs to be addressed in this debate is The Edge of The Universe. Does it exist? If not then we naturally can assume, SOMEWHERE IN ALL OF INFINITY WITH INFINITE POSSIBILITIES that we will have another life form. However if it is limited then we may not have aliens.

Con have u seen the documentary about how if aliens were real there is a 99% chance they lived for thousands of years and went extinct already. and perhaps there is none and never was, but the chance of them being intelligent is so low, that f they ever existed it wouldn't be in the same lifetime..

cool documentary.

pro u can answer too.

I wanted to take a fun stance on this as Con, saying you cannot be absolutely sure there IS life: and then go on about the religious aspects for and against; the science flaws(technical) and inconveniences(media/knowledge); as well as really hammer on some conspiracies...

but U hit the jackpot. God created Worlds, and that leaves us to have to admit that in all of the Universe (Holistically everything), there is at least one or two other planets that are suffering tyranny, social injustice, rape, famine, disease, poverty and blatant bigotry as well. I would have quote the Quran though.

I don't believe in space bacteria or in more than "6000" year old earth.
