Con

uniforms are just wast of money. They also are holding students back from expressing his/her self it is not right to hold back are freedom of style

Thank you for the challenge, Con.

In response to Con's statement that uniforms are a waste of money, allow me to point out that this assumes that they are not beneficial in any way, something which has not been established. In fact, the opposite can be easily demonstrated by citing a relevant and very comprehensive study. The University of Houston conducted a 2010 study which determined that implementing a school uniform raised the average test scores of girls by 3%.[1] Additionally, school attendance rates were seen to rise while disciplinary infractions leveled off following the adoption of uniforms.[2]

Although a student's ability to express his- or herself through their clothing choices may have some value, it can easily be said that the benefit of this expression is outweighed by the benefits of school uniforms mentioned above.

Thank you.

Reasons for voting decision: S&G goes to Pro due to Con's lack of grammatical skills. Pro wins as he fully refutes Con and has evidence to support his argument and thus he wins the debate.
