Yes, video games should have a high age restriction. I believe this because there have been proven detrimental effects of these violent video games on children of inappropriate ages. Many parents are not aware of the ratings in games and do not understand the violence their children are being exposed to. I believe that if we raised the ages on the restrictions as well as enforce these age restrictions we would have a lower level of violence in out society. Children are incredibly impressionable and often their exposure to these games, although it does not directly "make" them violent can cause them to see this type of violence as acceptable and not imaginary is it.

It is absurd to say or think that a video game has any effect on a human regardless of age. In and of it self, yes, many games "Seem" to promote a violent state. However, it is also noteworthy to admit that the violent actions are there for the player to fight back against, with a violent act in return. The lack of parenting or proper guidance of an elder is where the failure actually occurs, not the game itself. In other words, any game is fine as long as the parent or guardian explains what the child is seeing. So in closing, a game, a news cast, a movie, War, Crime, it is all violent, but the truth remains the same. We live in the heart of a violent world. It is what we teach our children that determines what reaction the child ultimately decides is appropriate.
