well....thanks for accepting this debate, let me start of by 10 main point why should we use E-book.I will give the 5 first point ,then the other 5 in the next round.

1) we Don"t have to pack 10 or so books for one trip. It's probably the most compelling reason, especially with rising costs to bring baggage on planes, it makes it easier to keep bags light.

2)It also supports multiple document formats. You can even do homework/work on it. Not that you"d want to, but the option is available.

3)It also saves money for buying new books. Many New York Times Bestsellers are available for $9.99 and some of the old books (like the Nancy Drew Files) are available for less than $1.

4) And of cause it's portable. Just like a book, you can take it anywhere. Compared to some of the big reference book I"ve read or even textbooks, these eBook readers are a piece of cake to carry around.

5)Ergonomic. Admit it, your wrists hurt when you hold the book open for hours on end.

thank you

looks like you forfeited round 2, but I will still give other 5 point

6)It is compact, everything in one place (books, newspapers, blogs). Today"s world is all about consolidating, making every gadget do more. So being able to consolidate and get all your reading material in one place makes it invaluable.

7) You can also zoom in on text and different sizes. Sometimes the text on those old paperbacks is just too small to read easily, being able to change the font size at least means you can probably use it longer than some of your old books.

8)And with dedicated services, you can have thousands of books available virtually at your fingertips. Just the concept is enough to get us excited. Any book we can think of is available and we can get it whenever we feel like it.

9)And you can get the book you want instantly.

10)On top of that,of cause,it save the environment.

thank you,and wish you a good debate.

Mr. Lee, actually the kindle or the nook weighs about 8~12 oz. while an average hardback LOTR book is much heavier...so be more specific about what qualifies as an average book...

Mr.Lee
Pro, you need to use sources for a more affective debate. And you are debating from your opinion on number 5, because the average E-reader weighs just about the same as the average book.
