First, I'd like a clarification on which God you're referring to. Second, I feel like this is more of a conversation regarding the necessity of religion rather than an omnipotent being. Though, if you ask me, there is no reason for either of them. God wraps up our naturally obscure and messy story of origin in a nice little box, while religion gives us closure and a sense of self-righteousness. Convenient maybe, but not needed.

Do you know the difference between conversation and preaching?: a conversation or discussion is a dialog where everyone learns and everyone is willing to modify their views based on that new information. A sermon is where one person speaks without listening and with the intention of teaching rather than learning.
If you have any original thoughts, I would like to hear them, but if all you have to say is what someone else has already said, well..........................................

18 When I say to a wicked person, "You will surely die," and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade them from their evil ways in order to save their life, that wicked person will die for[b] their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. 19 But if you do warn the wicked person and they do not turn from their wickedness or from their evil ways, they will die for their sin; but you will have saved yourself.

Ezekiel 18:4"Behold, all souls are Mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is Mine. The soul who sins will die.

You speak in metaphors, you don't make any point, you only preach. Historically all the thousands of gods man has invented over thousands of years have all been myths, your god seems no more believable then the rest, they all need faith and worship or they stop being real. Believe or else...........The more you know the less you believe.

People historically believe that Believers go by faith .... alas that is true but not totally, you see, those whom have faith only have faith because God has manifested personally to each one, taking the reigns of their lives, He has shown His provision, proving by miraculous interventions that He IS God. For this cause is Gods reality made manifest among His followers. those who have not spent time and can bear witness that the Lord God did in fact and in reality come to them and minister, comfort, and more importantly ....I cannot for the life of me think of the word .... but what it means is to have Him actually spend time with you, on a daily basis, the whole time letting you KNOW absolutely positively He IS There.

This IS what God does to and For those who follow Him ... it is the saddest of all things to not know Him, to believe Him a myth, to miss out on the greatest friendship one can ever know, and more importantly to KNOW that at your end you shall be separated from Him for the whole of eternity .... the very thought brings a sadness that CANNOT be put into words and yet, you all save those who follow Him shall experience this .... not only at this moment .... but for the entirety of your existence, on earth and more terribly ....after your death!

For their sake we travail, suffering persecutions in an attempt to bring Him to them that they may know His saving Grace, that they may have opportunity to experience the single greatest event they WILL ever know, bar none ..... The Salvation of the Lord!

Acts 4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved."

You assume there's only one religion, and only one version of God.
You assume the choice between religion and atheism is simple. You pick either religion, or no religion. Belief in God, or no belief in God. One, or the other.
But as anyone knows who's read even a little history there are hundreds upon hundreds of different religions, and different gods these religions believe in. Thousands, if you count all the little sub-sects separately. Tens of thousands or more, if you count every religion throughout history that anyone's ever believed in.
Even among today's Big Five, there are hundreds of variations: sects of Christianity, for instance, include Catholic, Baptist, Presbyterian, Anglican, Methodist, Lutheran, Mormon, United Church of Christ, Jehovah's Witness, etc. etc. etc.
And sub-sects of these sects include,
Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox, Southern Baptist, American Baptist, Mormonism (mainstream LDS version), Mormonism (cultish polygamous version), Mormonism (repulsive infant-torturing version), Church of England, American Episcopalian, Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod................................
So which god? Which religion? How do we know the right one from the wrong one?

The only problem with that theory is the only reason a person does not know God, is because they have never accepted Him, and as such have never established and open door to communication with God.

For example and to suffice as an explanation let us take the scriptures of Matthew 13 which DEFINES all believers. Good and Bad.

The seed sown along the path.- Any person who does not understand Gods word ..... it is quickly forgotten.

The seed falling on rocky ground - Someone who hears the word receives it with joy. Accepts it purely out of an emotional response, and has no root. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away.

The seed falling among the thorns - Someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. A great many are here! These are the Religious! They know not God nor God them.

But the seed falling on good soil - Someone who hears the word and understands it. Commits to God and bears fruit in various degrees. They flourish, at the levels of commitment, but all are commited.

These are all those who professed to have known God, but their actions bear them out as liars, they never knew God .... saw Him .... yes, but the Chose Him over the World? No.
