Image manipulation has spawned some of the greatest modern day art. From editing photos to create a surreal artistic experience, like http://i10.photobucket.com... , to an amateur editing of a picture in MS Paint, image manipulation is just great.

Digital art is great. I normally use Corel Painter X. Alot of my work is not based off photos, and what photo work I do, Photoshop is better. Each application has its advantages. Most people I know who create digital art use multiple programs.

At the same time, though, image manipulation has been abused by many.

I believe the benefits do far outweigh the minor abuses, but you didn't mention it, so I thought I should.
