Have you ever heard of a country called m"u xanh đN45;t? In English it means, blue land, since they are a coastal nation.

Once you've seen that you would probably work out that there exists no such country and that song isn't an anthem. You probably scrolled down anyways.

My country of origin, the worlds most Easterly Country http://en.wikipedia.org... Is Kiribati (pronounced Ki-ri-bas) and is a group of islands out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Anthem is the vid with the flag on it. https://www.youtube.com...

This country is going to sink below sea level with rising seas thanks to global warming. The people are rather annoyed at the big countries who do this to them and as it stands, no country is actually changing their ways to prevent the loss of Kiribati. https://www.youtube.com...

I've always found Japan's to be very stirring.

It certainly is beautiful, too bad that it's not exactly politically correct in Japan.

The anthem of Vietnam was written by metalheads.

"Our flag, red with the blood of victory, bears the spirit of the country."
"The distant rumbling of the guns mingles with our marching song."
"The path to glory is built by the bodies of our foes."
"For too long have we swallowed our hatred. Be ready for all sacrifices."

I've always thought that "I Vow to Thee, My Country" would make a much more beautiful anthem than "God Save the King/Queen"

Another one I like that I had forgotten about:

It's beautiful, but not quite anthemic. I wonder why Holt put it right in the middle of Jupiter from The Planets.

It was the other way around, actually. He wrote the Planets, then found a poem which matched the chorale from Jupiter almost perfectly. He asked the author, tweaked his music, and then made it into a hymn.

Yeees. I love playing Lizzy in Civ V island maps. My first exposure to the tune actually took place while dismantling Russia with an immense flotilla of ships-of-the-line.

I'm probably a bit biased, but I still love America's National Anthem.

I remember seeing this one live. Very moving :)
