If you feel as if you have a great political poem, please post it here.
I'll start, you try and beat me and so on.

Election Day is over…
The talking is done….
My party lost,
Your party won,

So let's be fiends,
Let arguments pass,
I'll hug my elephant…
You kiss your A**!

Plagiarized. >_>

Yes plagiarized, got a source we can all use? You obviously saw from your Google search that everyone uses it, every election. It is a common poem with no known author. Plagiarized.

Fight for the workers, comrades, fight!
Fight for social justice and for opportunity for all
There is an election to come
And we must defeat the Tory scum
So go and smash a snob; attack an aristocrat
It's time to trash the toffs
And annihilate the nobility.

Together, brothers and sisters, we will win.
We'll redistribute the wealth
And end the corruption and spin
Fight on, comrades, and never waiver
And woe betide anyone who doesn't vote Labour.

(And no, I didn't pilfer it off the Internet, but I expect you can tell that!)

I realize that this post is old but, since the 2012 election is coming up... let's revive the topic, shall we?

Open your eyes

O' Citizen, why don't you see? Subjugation looms not far. Over two hundred years, you have been free. Now, ruled by political czar.

The fate of our nation has been foretold, masked by a socialist slant. The powers that be grow wily, yet bold; fueled by a silver tongued rant.

Peril has become the theme of our land. Our patience need wear very thin. Hope and change comes not from one man. In us, is where it begins!

Think very hard at times of election. It's simple sometimes to be fooled. Learn the truth of your final selection. It's best to be governed, not ruled.

Our forefathers warned of corruption and greed. It is how this country will fall. It's a simplistic concept we all must heed. If we don't, it will ruin us all.

Off in the horizon, just beyond on the shadows
Right before the breach of light
Right before the eye can see
I see not one, not two, but an entire population
I see a whole entire nation
Walking in the shadows
Walking in the dark
I see the red and the blue
The white and the black
I see a country walking in the shadows
When I squint my eyes
at the last ray of lies
i see an entire nation waking in the dark
I can barely make them out because of the shadows
We walk as a nation, but we walk alone
We walk as a population, but we've learned to walk on our own
We have the same beliefs and same vaules
But it's so hard to agree on anything anymore
On any decision everybody has a answer for
We learned to talk to much and listen to little
We've strayed from what we stand for and we refuse to learn
Technology has made us brittle and independent
Our minds have become too strong from our faith
The core values of our self, our culture and our history
Off in the horizon, just beyond the eye can see
I see not one, not two but an entire population
I see an entire nation
Walking in the dark
Walking in the shadows
