Has anyone ever read the book Solaris? I saw the 2002 movie, looked it up on Wikipedia, and as per usual, found the book to be more interesting (at least from the summary). I'm interested in reading it, but I was hoping for a review before I did.

interestingly enough I had just stumbled upon this book yesterday by-way of random Wikipedia articles and it seems like an interesting read. I was vaguely aware of the 2002 film version before but I've only heard bad things about it. I'm sure you can find reviews of the book just by googling around a bit.

Here's one http://www.scwu.com...

From my own searching, I've heard that the plot develops slowly and that some of the complexity gets lost in the dual translation, but that overall it makes you think a lot more than the average sci-fi novel.

If you do end up reading it, let us know how it goes. I may pick it up if I ever get enough time away from school.
