Any other fans? I consider The Old Man and the Sea and For Whom The Bell Tolls two of the greatest books I've ever read. Any other recommendations?

... Hemingway is literally the writing I despise the most. His books are so dry, blah. He can spend five minute describing a donkey on the rode! I'd rather read a stack of Hitchens books!

"Do you like Hemingway's writing?"

"No. Well, maybe. Maybe I do."

"What's bothering you?"

"Sometimes it's okay."

"I love Spain in the fall."

"I thought you'd say that." She lit a cigarette between sips.

"Even reading about it via terse, cryptic dialogue for pages on end," he added.

She tipped the glass toward her sullen face. "I know."

They don't just hand out Nobel prizes.

No, they gave him one for being brave enough to be the first Black governmental representative/leader in the Western World, successfully making racist calls like the one above me joke, substantially reducing "white guilt" everywhere, and ultimately, creating what appears to be a more unified world. Which used to be a really huge deal until it happened, apparently. This is all after most of his biggest political accomplishments.

Anyway, I would figure that being the President of the United States is a bigger deal than winning a Nobel Prize.

But.

Personally, I prefer Steinbeck to Hemingway. Similar time period and subject matter, better writing.
