The Arts section is pretty dead so I thought I'd start a thread (Oh look, that rhymes).

Post your poetry!

Here's one I wrote in the 12th grade.

Stepping lightly in a cloud;
Comfort in its bloody shroud;
Its pure white sole a blinding
Light that helps to guide the way;
Its criss-crossed and fiery tongue
Beneath the vicious cat, among
The sea of blue-green winding
Like a burning autumn day.

Its pure white sole now fades with wear;
That once was guarded for with care
And now lays yellowing with age,
But age presents new beauty.
Its smile of warmth lights up my heart;
A flame of pain when we're apart;
Together journey life's new page,
Lest the page undo me.

Its lovely curves and every crevice
Blends and molds in perfectness,
As red as the Forbidden Apple,
A hundred times as sweet;
A glorious vision of Vietnam---
Five-and-a-half men's, and yet, so calm
That I never have to grapple
To put my Pumas on my feet.

(In case you couldn't figure it out, it's about my red sneakers)

Here's a little something I put together last night:

Poetry is just putting words together
Rhyming just makes it sound better
it goes just like this
sometimes you may miss
but writing poetry takes practice
just continue and gain confidence

KFC, oh KFC. You are so yummy. Without you, I die. When you are away I cry. KFC, oh KFC.

There is nothing more bad-@ss than being yourself.

I solemnly swear I am up to no good.
