I am not very well versed in painting art, I am trying to expose myself to it, but alas I'm a noob.

Anywho, Marie Zeldis is a wizard, anything she makes is awesome.

Let me try to do something. Art is like classical music. It SEEMS like you must "know something" or be perceived as "unsophisticated". Lower all barriers in you way to art. Take it AS IT IS! I can't say this enough. I can't even communicate this properly. Are is for YOU. Don't let me or anyone else tell you what you like, they can guide you to what is GREAT, but just look, and you will learn to lvoe.

Let me blather more. Wine. I knew nothing of wine when I move to CA. I learned to actually love wine. Not the snobby bullsh1t, but wine. I used information from those that KNEW wine, but never allow myself to be intimidated by those fools that make you feel bad for not knowing.

Art is... It should be what you feel. Understand why Warhol was very cool. Choose for yourself if you like it.

I meant it as like I haven't seen a lot of art, but if the very few paintings I have seen, that artist is awesome. And I don't care what the sophisticated people say, that's awesome.

And I agree with you 100%, you gotta just let it wash over you, not worry about other people's opinions.
