I discovered Electro-swing recently and absolutely loved it. It's a new developing genre that mixes 20's and 30's pop with recent electro samples to create an old vintage tune with modern backing and instruments.

What genres have you stumbled across that you'd recommend to anyone else?

A genre I love but rarely listened to (until recently) is medieval music. It's often very atmospheric and I can easily imagine merriment in a village or castle when I hear it!

-French Baroque dance suites. Ironically, Ravel's and Debussy's homages to them are more often heard than the original suites.
-Barcarolles. Not heard very often (apart from Chopin's). I strongly recommend Faure's.

Well, there is one genre that is incredibly rare and hard to come across.

I believe it's called good music.
