That was due to a glitch I believe.

Yes, but I don't know if it's been fixed yet.

Switch to rich text. Copy and paste what you want from a different place. Switch back to plain text. Post.

You could also start a new debate, write the remainder of the post, confirm it, then immediately cancel the debate. Go back to the one you're on, paste the URL there and say to go to that one.

If you don't feel like glitching the system the way FREEDO said :D

I think that glitch should be left there.

I thought it was strange there was a limit on characters.

it really hurt my argument and debate, I couldn't even post half of what I wanted. It's not even worth debating here.

It actually is worth. I've improved my debate skills because of it. It may not be as good as regular policy debate, but it's still good.

Defeating the rules by any means should be treated the same as talking overtime in a verbal debate. The excess should be ignored by voters. The right way is to narrow the scope of the resolution so debate fits reasonably within the space allowed.

My experience is that few readers will slog through five rounds of 8000 characters, let alone unlimited characters. Leave filibusters to Congress.

That's a problem with the readers, not the writer.

If there is no interest in having readers, then do the debate via e-mail. Then there are no constraints on numbers of rounds or characters.

That would be kind of cool. More like through PM though.

Yeah seriously. But on the other hand, it keeps your debates within a reasonable amount so they are readable.
