DDO is going through a rough period. What we need to do is calm down. There are a lot of old members who have left and several others who have announced they are considering the same. If you're leaving because of personal issues, that's one thing. But if you're leaving due to the current climate, I say that is a major over-reaction. DDO has always gone through phases and this is just another one. Stay with us and we'll work things out. To anyone who may have been a part of the problem, please get your act together.

Freedo. DDO is not going through a rough period. Humanity is. People have
lives. And in todays world, you are seeing humans go though some life
altering trials and tribulations. People are stressed, depressed, tired, jaded,
overworked and underpaid. They are dealing with crisis such as drug, physical
abuse, torment, rage, anger, fear, pain. And with a forum like this, where most
of the individuals here dont believe or admonish God, then only the darkness
can creep slowly into their lonely souls. This is just a temporary fix and the ones
who are psychologically inept can only maintain a level of civility for a certain
period of time before they internally self destruct. This is why they move on to
try and find other void filling outlets which slowly works to their own demise.

Thank you, but I ask you to consider that your experience on DDO is a part of your life, and it is a great way to interact with others and help others learn from each other. There are great many of people who are intellectual and intelligent. And then, there are others...those who amuse us, but keep us in laughter even at the end of a rough day. And finally, there are those who simply fail to make us laugh at times. But, the point is that DDO, like every other website, undergoes phrases and this one, the apparent--Deactivo phrase, is a frightening one. My theory is that the moderators have tidied up their behavior and started to ban several of those who are engaged in illegimitate behavior...Spamming, advertising, and trolling are three of such behavior. Or, it could just be that these people are all, to put it simply, the same person who is now concerned with his reputation as multi-accounter.

Man Is Good. Like I said, people are always this way.
All forums go through this stage.
Right now, DDO is still quite active for the most part.
The activity is sporadic at best, even though it is not as vibrant as it was
during its early stages. Once one is curious, the actual act of what sparks
ones curiosity becomes void. It is not as interesting, or she just aint the
same ole gal anymore. It all goes back to what is going on in the real
world. Adversity. And it has affected the atmosphere here as well.
When the depression eases, they will return.

There's almost nothing good about debate.org. I can't remember the last time I had a good forum conversation with anyone. I had better back-and-forth on the sean hannity forums.

You'd think DDO would attract some of the best thinkers on the internet, but no.

People would be able to ignore the trolls if this website had any redeeming qualities.
Things that are so interesting:

Sieben. The site is not as abstract as some of the all time greats.
Yahoo Answers, Experience Project, LiberalForum.org, Unsolved-Mysteries.com.
These websites survive because they asbtract. They adapt to their environment.
And they entertain. If you give the people what they want, they will keep coming
back for more.

DDO is decent. But the people here rely too much on the characters that make
this place roll. Therefore it does have some very unredeeming qualities.
It needs some more legs to stand on now.

No, Benny, he's the "one and only". Perhaps, his new username should be that.

Benny. Koopin was only joking around. I am not him. I think he left because he
was tired of the other trolls insulting him. Gay jokes, race jokes, and more.
So he just got tired of it because it began to remind him of his own personal
pain. This use to be a place where he could enjoy his freedom.
But when you are constantly reminded of how inadequate you are, it brings
one to a feeling of isolation. Now he is gone. Perhaps for good, or maybe not.

A lie in its entirety.

Geesh, I didn't know DDO was a place of heaven and freedom! Especially when you're given a blank white screen with blue boxes and a few miniature pictures. I guess that's what you call "freedom".
But when you are constantly reminded of how inadequate you are, it brings
one to a feeling of isolation. Now he is gone. Perhaps for good, or maybe not.
When I am reminded how eerie you sound at times, I consider the existence of ghosts and monsters. But when I read this, I laugh at such a prospect. :P

Man Is Good. You laugh because you have the mindset of a fool.
I was only speculating on what this man went through.
I am surprised that you would make fun at his expense.
You see he shared with me a story I cannot tell here.
So I know what was going on. *
Before you try to validate my response with logic.
Try using common sense first. I am deeper than you think.
