I just got finished reading over the amount of members worldwide that this
place has. There are about 30,000 people who have visited this place over
the past few years. Even though there are about 20 of the current members
online now, this is only during this hour. But the visitors range is much higher
than that. This place has seen some wars in its lifetime. I came here in 2011.
I was not here when it was in its prime. The best is still yet to come.
You cannot predict the future, or can you. As long as we are proactive, and
are participating online, DDO will survive. She is still going strong from what
I can see. So what if a few of them leave here and there. One will replace
that individual. And there may be one who's even hotter than the Interrogator
soon. You never know. Anything is possible. Right ?

I have been her for about 9 months and if anymore core members leave and we are left with 0 core members then what is the sense in staying?? I was deeply saddend when Koopin left, I learned alot from him and his debates. So I ask what is the sense in staying if there are no core members to learn from???

Opinionated. Who cares. Koopin is gone now. But there will be more to come.
Who are you ? Do you know who you are ?
If so, then make yourself of value here. You can be a leader and not a follower.
You can be a core member as you call it. You can be the talk of the town.
Just use your imagination, if you have one.
And the rest will come.

Trust me when I tell you this. A lot of you have potential. But you are being
too damn conventional. I see some guy here talking about trolls. If it had not
been for some trolls, this place would have been as dead as a doorknob.
I say let them stay. HMMMMMMM. I have a plan.

Because the core members remember what DDO was like a year ago when this place was more like a community, where we kind of knew each other and it was very much like we would know each other irl. It's increasingly becoming just a site of anonymous contributors, which is fine, but that creates a more transient experience, whereas people would have at one time friendships and comfortable dialogue, but also some pretty serious and intense discussion. Now it's a lot of hit and run posts and members who are active for a week or two and then are gone; not to mention the trolls who are creating a bigger problem in the denegration of this site.

It very well may be the case that is the way the site is now, and that is the direction of the site, and the older members are just missing the old days of how it was. However as we see very familiar contributors leave it does hurt a bit. It also has meant the excellence of DDO is gone.

All I am saying is that most of the core members here are respected and are very good debators at that. I am not going to sit here and say they mean nothing, when a core member leaves it is going to effect the site weather you like it or not.

Innomen. Do you know why it is a hit and run forum ? Because that is the
way of the world. We live in a fast paced world ! This site is not for
hustlers and players. This is not for gamblers and pushers.
This forum is made for patient people. People who see time in a different light.
The other ones are more like the NBA, or the NFL.
DDO is like baseball. There is no glamour, or no pizzazzzzzzzzzzzzz. There are no
flashing lights or cameras with the red carpet to go along.
If you want that, you go to sites like Yahoo And EP. Youre not gonna get that
kind of hype here. Humans need to be stimulated constantly nowadays.
Our conscious minds are like machines. It needs to keep going at a speed of
light. Or else you get bored. Technology has got us that way. But it is what it is.
Agree.

DDO is like an old folks home. You have your moments every now and then.
And it goes back to being a graveyard again. Youre not gonna get any action
in that place unless you have a bunch of dead bodies to put in it. LOL
This is for turtles. And if you make it move just a little bit, it comes to life.

If that is how you see the site then why are you still here?? You can deactivate your account at any time. I blame the sites decline on the abundance of trolls and Juggles lack of action.

Opinionator. I am taking a necessary leave of absence from this place in a
few days. I assume that you missed yesterdays news. But anyway, the
declination of DDO is based on a number of things. Overtrolling, vulgarity,
excessiveness, repetitiveness, foulness, lack of respect, and more.
Too many to name here. But when I am gone, this place will be truly
in a state of depression. Enjoy this while you can.

I've been a member of this site for well over three years now and people have been saying that DDO is going to the dogs since the day I joined.

True, we've lost some great members along the way but we've also gained some great new members – and will continue to do so in the future.

It was shame to see Koopin go, for sure, but this is Debate.org not Koopin.com.

Well, despite the fact that DDO is no longer at its prime, which is very unfortunate--I cannot imagine how proactive the community would have been like in the past, there is still no reason to give up hope. There are still great members on this website and, as you said, Interrogator, since this is like an "empire", it will continue to expand. And that process of expansion will, no doubt, at least attract new and favorable minds to join and contribute to this website. Not all hope is lost here, only a part of it.

The Opinionator. Do you have a life ?
There are a TON of other things going on in the world today.
This place is only a teeny tiny priority in my life.
This does not define me, nor should it do the same for you.
Relax for goodness sake. This too shall pass.
