I say that the "What my friends are doing" are should be scrapped, and instead that are should used for notifications about forum posts that you've posted in. I coul really care less what my friends are doing here on DDO.

Time and time again I'll find myself having posted in a forum and forgotten about it. Then when I come back not to much later, I find that that thread has had a really nice conversation that I missed out on.

Yeah, especially since 90% of online friends are people you don't really follow anyway. A lot of people have like 50+ friends, but only pay attention to 4 of 5 of them.

It helps to see what threads are getting heated up.

You could just quickly skim through the forum.

Or you could notice "Oh, six of my friends posted in the same forum"

I don't look at them anyway. It's usually too cluttered with one person posting on several different forums instead of several different people posting on one forum.

I still think this is a good idea. I'd just rather have both, because it is annoying when you forgot which threads you posted in.

I'm for keeping as is. I find more threads through what my friends are doing, since it displays thread titles, while the forum only displays time (no titles until you dig into it).

I agree with this, it's more motivating to get into a thread that looks interesting when you see one of your friends in a forum topic, or commenting on a debate you may have overlooked.

Or how about this, alternative suggestion; what if DDO simply added the option to have notifications as to which threads you've posted in, and the ability to turn off the "What my friends are doing" box?
