Welcome back, nerdykiller!

Anyway what happened while i was gone? :P

We've done a lot of rebuilding since the AnCap exodus (were you here for that?). There are two new thread stickied in the DDO forum category, those are guides to help the new members out. The current projects are a tournament for new members, and another series of beginner mafia. A lot of focus is put on the development of new members right now.
New trolls?

No, it's been surprisingly peaceful here.
new members?

Of course! There's F16_fighting_Falcon, lickdafoot, VocMusTcrMaloy, Thett3, and a whole lot of others that I know exist but can't think of right now (sorry!). There's also freedomsquared, but he's not a new as he looks; he used to be crackofdawn and crackofdawn_jr.

Just fill me in guys....

Headphonegut hasn't been on in a while, I don't know what happened to him. Tvellalott left in the exodus.

Lol, it did for a while. Or, people thought it did and it turned into a self-fulfilling prophecy. It's improved a lot.

what is "AnCap exodus" ?

Most of the an-caps got fed up with the quality of the site and left. There was a lot of drama involved. Askbob and Sieben ended up banned. Askbob posted pictures of Brainmaster (the troll that got everyone riled up) for everyone to make fun of. He was a kid, so he got banned for that. Sieben just did everything in his power to cause chaos and make things worse. I don't remember the exact reason he was banned, I think it was for advertising another site. He created a forum for the people that left and posted links here.

Tvellalott, Cody_Franklin, Askbob, Sieben, Grape, J.Kenyon, Annhasle, Laissez_Faire, and a few others were among those who left. Not all of the an-caps are gone, Thaddeus is on both sites and I am still here.

Yeah, things were pretty crazy for a while. I'm glad it's calmed down, though. Drama is good in moderation (it is a debate site), but I think that was too much.

And there are new people for you to meet, too! Some people that used to be here have left, but there will always be more people that find their way to DDO. Such is the way of the internet.

Oh, wow. Don't feel bad. I just came back from hibernation and I'm kind of like wtf happened? Well, thank you for asking and thank you to those who explained.

(Even though it always seems like I miss all the drama and excitement of DDO because of my hibernations).

I'm not actually an anarchist. I just...actually, I forgot the reason why I said I was that. I know I am not a socialist and I do lean more towards capitalism simply because it used to create human suffering...but other then that, I really haven't had the time to figure out what ideaolgy I preffer. Pardon the confusion, but that is my fault.

There are still a few anarchists here, but I think the ones that took part in the exodus left because they were a large group of angry people. Large groups of angry people do stupid things. Brainmaster got them all worked up and any chance of rationality went out the window. Juggle and their rules were just something they could blame everything on.

That is very true. Angry people do tend to be swayed easier towards incompetent actions. I will try to be wary of that.

It was actually kind of fascinating to see, if you like train wrecks. I'm definitely glad it's over, though.

I held my faith that the DDO community would be the cure to the diseases that plagued the site and I was correct.

-A member of the community is now an active mod. (Nobody knows who juggle took to their clutches)
-Members created the first (stickied) new member orientation.
-Members created the first (stickied) debate guide
-Members have kept the site clean of trolls.
-The number of daily reports is at a low.
-Posting counts are up (for now).

Juggle did little to nothing, now the site is at it's best.

Hmm...train wrecks...

But anyway, I didn't ever really notice that until I skimmed the forums: that there weren't any debate guides or orientational speeches/guides. But yes, I do think that DDO has started to improve becasue the last time I was here I kept getting the feeling that it wasn't about debates anymore but it was more about the drama (and forums but everybody loves forums, well not everybody). People are people I suppose.

I came back just at the tail end of the exodus (after most of the Ancaps had left but when Seiben came back to promote his site and spam until he got banned), which was interesting to log back on into that mess.

But there are down sides to what happened, the worst being that Koopin is no longer with us, KFC be with him (he left, not dead).

I am voting for Innomen because of his intelligence, common sense, humility and the fact that Juggle appears to listen to him. Any other Presidential style would have a large sub-section of the site up in arms. If I was President I would destroy the site though elitism, others would let it run riot. Innomen represents a middle way that works, neither draconian nor anarchic and that is the only way things can work. Plus he does it all without ego trips.

Well, still pulling through. The posting numbers are coming back to pre-exodus days, and the trolling, apart from Interogator, is at a minimum, as well as the harassment and overall negative behavoir.

Oh, no! I was wondering what happened to Koopin because there wasn't any of his posts in recent forums. Awes, why'd Koopin have to go? Who else is going to be DDO only member that openly romanticizes a fried chicken fast food resturaunt!

And I'm glad that all of that negative stuff is gone. It wasn't helpful at all to this site.
