Are you and lickdafoot the only judges for our debate?

Mine is done too but unfortunately my opponent forfeited :(

A shame, I really wanted to get through the tournament with hard work to push myself and be a better debater, not win off a technicality..

I can vote for your opponent, if that'd make you feel better.

bump for access. And could someone explain the voting rules again? Who's votes do we count for advancing to proceeding rounds?

Unless I'm mistaken, all votes should count. Congratulations on moving forward to the next round.

Winner = standard overall vote.

Just a reminder to everyone, the tourney is double elimination. For those that didn't win their first match, its not over until you lose twice.

Oh, that's awesome then. I didn't really understand how double elimination works. What if there are say three people or one person who loses twice? Wouldn't we have an odd number of people moving on to the next round? I never really participated in double elimination in any sport or game. I wonder how it covers all the eventualities.

I'm not sure either...Honestly I'm just working things out as I go along.

In a double elimination tournament (for it to avoid the problems of an odd number of people who advance), you have the winners play the winners and the losers play the losers. It then works up to a "championship" game/debate where the team that never lost gets 2 tries to win the whole thing.

Usually when it gets to the championship it's the final round regardless of your previous record. o.O

4. If you lynch Mestari you will lose because he will be the third party Doctor or some other townie power role.

Really? Cuz this is how they do for every sports tournament I've ever been in (like the Little League World Series style).

OK, Thett and Seraine's debate is in the last round. Everyone else is done. we're on schedule so thats good.

I forgot to mention to everybody that I'm going be on vacation from the 4th to the 8th. Which basically means, next round will be delayed for a bit. Its not all bad; Thett and Seraine seem to be swamped with school work and could probably use some free time to adjust to the schedule.

I would suggest that you could look for possible opponents during the break if you want, but we're still unsure how this double-elim system is going to work. It may be possible that i have to match certain people together to avoid someone having a bye, or other complications.

So I guess, have fun in the meantime.

did we get a replacement for Phoenix_Reaper?

How do we decide opponents for the second round? If i am thinking correctly, with double elimination the winners should debate each other and the losers debate each other... would P_R's replacement be considered as having one loss?

I'm P_R's replacement, and I will be counted with one loss. Beyond that I don't know what next--I'm waiting for BlackVoid's update.
