I saw another re-incarnation of the flame warriors. This is a common cycle that DDO goes through, as new members join, they are unaware that it has already been done and start it again.

I'm not complaining at all, since it is a sign of new core members which is a sign of growth and movement and is anti-stagnation.

I'm just wondering if we should do another DDO Political Compass graph again. We typically do it only once per year, but it wouldn't be bad to up it to every 6 months.

oh, that's that other guy's thing.. and seemingly the only reason he ever comes back...

so why don't you just leave it to him.

Cause I had to do it last time as well. He started the thread, and never did anything else with it.

Yea sure why not!
I am voting for Innomen because of his intelligence, common sense, humility and the fact that Juggle appears to listen to him. Any other Presidential style would have a large sub-section of the site up in arms. If I was President I would destroy the site though elitism, others would let it run riot. Innomen represents a middle way that works, neither draconian nor anarchic and that is the only way things can work. Plus he does it all without ego trips.

At first I thought it seemed a little silly to do another so soon, but we had a lot of old members leave and a lot of new ones join, so it's not like we'll be making an identical political compass. It's going to look a lot different this time, so why not?

Well okay, let's see how it goes. I imagine that some of the older members may not want to do the test again so soon. If that is the case, please at least post what your last results were.

It's kind of fun going back over the old scores and such. Maybe this time I won't be so alone in my corner.

You're Econ is a -8? That's on the left side of the spectrum, last time you were on the right side.

I mix up which is the negative and which is the positive side a lot.

This kind of measurement has always confused me. My idea about what ought to be the current policy is not the same as my idea of what the ultimate ends of the policies I advocate for are.

I understand that change happens through a dialectic process where two opposing forces collide and then bring about a new synthesis. This has led me to choose to advocate for policies I think will help to get us where I want us to be, rather than for the policies that directly represent where I think we should be.

So while right now I might be economically liberal, my ultimate goal is for economic conservatism. I simply think the conditions for that to be a healthy thing for society have not been met yet.

Economic Left/Right: -4.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.67

Not sure what that means though.
1) Whatever has contradictory attributes does not exist.
2) The Biblical God has contradictory attributes.
3) Therefore, the Biblical God does not exist

nah, but what I really don't get is how do people get +8s and 9s in the economics part... are they like answering yes to all those "we should let corporations rape us and the land" questions or what? I think it's crazy anyway...

I was a little thrown by "should we control inflation or unemployment" since there is a feedback loop between them. I said unemployment because tamping inflation is much easier (Fed raises/promises to raise the interest rate) than lowering unemployment (god only know how).

I don't remember that question. We mostly just answer no to questions of whether the government should be allowed to initiate coercion and aggression against individuals and groups of individuals in the name of the "public good".
