One vote has been made.

I stumbled onto Kleptin's profile today and noticed that out of his 158 debates, he has only tied one. So I took a look at it out of curiosity.

As you can see, it is tied because no one voted. Yet it was obviously a victory for Kleptin because his opponent forfeited all rounds.

It reminded me of one of my own debates which has since been reported and removed where no one voted and it resulted in a tie even though my opponent had forfeited in every round.

So I propose a solution. The time remaining for voting should not initiate until after at least one vote has been made. No longer would there be debates that end with no votes.

Furthermore, perhaps complete forfeitures should result in an automatic victory.

Wait, you can remove debates that had messed up outcomes like that? I have 2 ties where my opponent forfeited multiple rounds, but I hadn't discovered the forfeited debates threat at the time so the result stayed.

Anyway, I suppose its a good idea.

I think there should be a way to get post-voting period debates back to the voting period. In this debate, a multi-accounter (wierdman/darkhearth) caused me to lose without giving an RFD even though it was required and it received no other votes.

Is it possible to get it removed or put back into the voting period?

I've had the same problem as well. My opponent vote bombed me twice, and a conservative also voted me down. This was before the days where RFDs were required and voting for yourself was banned.

He probably just pressed space the rfd requires you to type in characters and has a max limit but it fails to identify if those characters are actual letters not just spaces.

Somebody probably could reopen debates with messed up outcomes, but the problem then becomes the sheer amount of work they have to do, because nearly every regular member has a debate or two that didn't end the way it should.

That's a reportable offense.
