I figure we can devote a thread to observing thoughts from members on how they've improved and in what areas of debate since they joined. Personally, I think I've gotten better. Though I don't think I could have gotten worse! 34 of my 42 recorded losses came in my first three months on the site.

First 6 debates - 3 wins 3 loses

Last 6 debates - 6 wins

Basically I used to suck at debating.

My grammar has also improved drastically.

My first debate:
No sources
Bad vocabulary
About three paragraphs in all

So, yeah, I've improved, and hopefully I keep improving, as I have only been on here a little over a month.

Good idea. Better than sifting through every debate I've done.

First 6: 3-3
Last 6: 501

First 6 - 4 win, 1 tie, 1 loss
Last 6 - 6 win

I think the major change is how much time I put into each round of a debate. At first, I would quickly write a response and hit submit. They were good responses, but I didn't give myself time to think about how clear my arguments were or how they would impact readers. Now I still write responses quickly, but I spend time between finishing a response and hitting submit to just reflect on things. That said, sometimes I'm impatient and just hit submit anyway, although I think waiting is the best strategy. Things always come to you at the last minute, or after you hit submit, that you wish you could have included.

last 6 debates i went 5-1 (lost one regarding testicles) but i recently noticed ive been trolling quite a few debates

A comment in one of my debates said that I had the better argument but I didn't call enough attention to that. In my next debate, I was all about telling readers why I was winning. I've calmed down some since then, but I think some effect of that comment will stay with me.

That's what I always do. 45 minutes bam done. :/
