So I just discovered a fact that makes me highly dissapointed with the quality of debaters on this site.

A person here has debated in 30 debates. Has won 3, tied five, and lost the remaining thirty. Which comes out to be 3/5/30 for a win/tie/loss record.

This person is in the 89th percentile of debaters. Meaning he's better than 89 percent of the debaters on this site.

I mean, really? Who the heck are in that 89 percent? Two year olds? Come on, learn to debate people.

Yeah this is brought up every now and then. The reason is that like 90% of people who join this site either don't end up debating, or leave after their first one. So you win 2 debates and you've won more than 90% of the other members.

Normally I would object to keep the integrity of this debater in tact. But since this debater pisses me off with their lack of skill, I will make this an exception.

That's absolute stupidity. The site is called DEBATE.org after all. Emphasis on the DEBATE part of DEBATE.org. I don't understand why people come to this site and DON'T at least debate a few times.

It's not a problem with the debaters, actually. The percentile is calculated in an odd way.

For instance, you could win 2 and lose 50, yet still be in a higher percentile than someone who has won 1 and lost 0.

Ore_Ele does an elo system. Also, look at the three debates this person won.
Rules of Mafia

1. Mestari is never third party.
2. If Mestari claims an intricate and page long TP role, he's telling the truth.
3. Mestari always jointly wins with the town.
3b. If he doesn't he's mafia.
3c. If he was mafia you wouldn't suspect him in the first place.
4. If you lynch Mestari you will lose because he will be the third party Doctor or some other townie power role.
5. DP1 lynches are good.
6. The answer is always no.

Win Ratio with number of debates factored in = top debaters.

There needs to be less emphasis on number of debates though.

The current percentile system has been based purely on number of wins and nothing more, and since most debaters are actually only on for a single debate (which they mostly lose), the percentile becomes heavily skewed.

xxx200 annoys me too, but if you arrange the people according to win percentage he drops way down ;D

so if I win 3 and he wins 2 I am ranked higher?

even if i have a 3/100000 loss margin? (3=wins) and their 2/2? Interesting.
