I just got vote bombed pretty badly, and I would appreciate any help in reversing the effects. I figure that this officially means I'm popular, since someone thinks it's worth the work to vote down on all of my debates. ;)

I am actually getting vote bombed as we speak: I went from 20 losses to 27 in the time it took to post this. (I originally had 12 or 13.)

Debates with forfeits:
http://www.debate.org...
http://www.debate.org...
http://www.debate.org...
http://www.debate.org...
http://www.debate.org...

Debates where the winner is less clear, but my opponent used to have a lot less votes (if you think my opponent won, by all means vote for him. But my opponents' votes spiked recently.)

Thank you for your time.

I can't send Phil a message because I can't add him as a friend because my computer thinks I'm not logged in for some reason, even though I clearly am.

I believe the perpetrator has at least three accounts. I just checked out our two debates and I believe I got a 21-point boost in each. Sorry for your situation though.

I didn't think of this until a few minutes after the votes hit, so the bomber(s) may be offline by now. But I took a record of everyone who is online.

Cody Franklin, patsox, USAPitBull63, RoyLatham, kukupser, Rezzealaux, TheSkeptic, Ragnar_Rahl, KRFournier, JCMT, mongeese, jeremtaylor, Nags, doomlord77, studentathletechristian8, GeoLaureate8

Shortly after, ToastOfDestiny came online, and dvhoose came online at about the same time as RoyLatham going offline (within 30 seconds).

***

I make no accusations. This information may come in handy later. It is likely that the same person has vote bombed both me and mongeese (and anyone else who has been less public with any vote bombing that may have occurred), so some data is useful. I recommend that if anyone catches vote bombing in the future, they use this technique. Then we can find the people who tend to be online at the time and the people who get on and off within a very short period of time.

FYI: any online/offline patterns found within the last few minutes are mostly irrelevant, as my win ratio has not dropped since I created the original post.

You can change your status to offline even if you're online y'know.

Just in case I get into some BS with FREEDO again about how he's NOT a narcissist.

+7'd all the forfeit ones.

Really? Crud. Unless a vote bomber didn't think of that. In which case, un-crud.

I don't vote on this site. This policy saves me a lot of hassle and explaining, and people won't need to BS me for votes.

But that happened to me on another web site approximately a year ago, and I left the site. Hopefully, this site is much better managed than that one, and your situation can be amended, or at least stopped from future occurrence.

(If you need time evidence, I was writing some responses to a post during the time I've been on: http://www.debate.org...)

I hate vote-bombers. They make this site so much worse. If only the names of the people who vote on debates showed up...

Like I said, just being online is far from condemning, so that pretty much clears you.

BTW I love you guys. I got four counter-votes on one debate since creating this thread. http://www.debate.org...

It would be more helpful to click some of the further-down debates (such as http://www.debate.org... http://www.debate.org...), since as you can see, the ones at the top are already pretty effectively counter-voted.

I gave points to you on almost all the debates your opponent forfeited- I mainly gave the conduct, arguments, and source vote. Keep me posted if you need any other RFD's

I voted in a few of them so far -- but I didn't give +7's in all of them; I voted fairly (or, at least, what I thought was fair.)

I have a fair idea of who is bombing.

As you all know, Months ago there was a user called Josh who repeatedly voted non-conservatives down. What you may also know is that he sent a message encouraging people to V-bomb here on a website called Theybannedme.com. Because John's IP was banned, and he's been gone so long, I think it probably its someone from that, or less likely, Josh on a friends computer.

I agree 100%. Why is it that the voter's identities are kept secret?

I ALWAYS give an RFD on EVERY debate I vote on. At least on this site, I believe voters should give an accounting as to why they voted one way or another. This a very good practice.

Don't make accusations disclaimed as not being accusations, !@#$%^&*. Vote bombers don't need to sign off before signing on with a different account, do they? Oh, just because I called you a !@#$%^&* doesn't mean I think you are a !@#$%^&* ... See how the false disclaimer works, !@#$%^&*?

I have been vote bombed and despise the practice.

I went through MTGandPs debates, found he deserved the wins, and voted for him accordingly.

Well I wouldn't want you unfairly giving +7s. That's just another form of vote bombing.

You guys have been a great help, and my win ratio moved from 25/27 to 30/23. It's still not back to normal, but it's a lot better. Most of the debates that still have 21 extra points against me are ones where you have to actually read it. The exception is this: http://www.debate.org...

See the first post for a list of less-than-obvious victories. I would appreciate a read.

I wasn't making accusations. I was just collecting data that may prove useful. I never suspected you of vote bombing: you're too active and too fair, and leave some of the most impressive RFDs on DDO.

But thanks for helping with the voting despite the "accusations". Just more evidence of your fairmindedness.

Thanks for all the help, guys. I only have three debates that have been unfairly shifted. On this one http://www.debate.org... and this one http://www.debate.org... the winner is unclear and I had only been winning by a very small margin, but if I deserve to lose, I'd rather lose from legitimate votes than from vote bombing. On this one http://www.debate.org... I think I pretty clearly won.

Just for the record I'm pretty sure this debate http://www.debate.org... was down as a draw (even including MTG's vote for himself) before the extra votes in my favour gave me a win.

Glad to see most of your debates got cleaned, would have helped if I could.

Indeed it was.
