All right, I know I've said this before but I mean it this time. I will finish up the debates I'm in right now and then I will not be debating any longer on this site. I may leave it open just to communicate with certain people, or I may decide to close my account out for good. But the people on this site are clearly biased voters, with no background (and no learning) in debating or logic whatsoever.

What is so hard to understand that voters are not a "third debater." You vote based on the arguments presented, not whether you know of a particular answer to someone's argument. Also, you don't vote based on what you feel about the argument, especially if the opponent is going off on red herrings or throwing objections that are clearly not legitimate objections.

So again, I'm through debating here. Votes really shouldn't mean anything, and in reality they don't. But I'm not going to take the time and energy to craft my arguments and rebuttals only to have biased people vote against me based on the fact that they believe the opposite of me. I will keep to discussing real-time with people, as that will probably be a better use of my time.

Good day.

Awh sad day...

You are one of the last great theists actually willing to debate on this site.

The rest of us have been (like yourself) driven to shy away from religious topics.

Keytar, you can openly embrace the world of forums...and the multiple issues, drama, "crises", and turbulence there...

Why can't people just leave the cool way? Just close down your account and wait for someone else to notice? Lol What's up with all this public attention stuff? Is there any specific point?

What responses are you guys who make these threads looking for? Do you want us to say "Oh no! We're so sorry for whatever we did wrong! Please please stay, pretty please with sugar on top! We all love you oh so much!".

If your looking to be informative, ask yourself. Is this information important enough to start a thread over? Will people discuss this in great detail of any importance, or is this just me feeling sorry for myself, and hoping others do as well?

Ask yourself if people actually care. "Okay so I am no longer debating! I am telling the world this because it is ever so important."

If these threads are created for any other purpose other than for attention, then I am obviously failing to grasp the point.

Well, good bye.

As CP said, I don't see why you can just put in the rules in the beginning (if you are instigating) that no one should vote.

Or, if you and the contender, you can PM the instigator and ask him if he wants votes..then when you come to an agreement, you can just added some new rules in round 1.

Or in Round one you can say this vote is to remained tied, and votes for pro/con are VB's...

Ah, and so vanishes of the few remaining legends of this site in debating ability. Maybe I'll write a eulogy of his time here, maybe not.

Your presence on this site will be sorely missed.

As I've said elsewhere, this is a good band-aid solution, but it doesn't prevent last-minute VBs.

Good day.

There are many times I agree with this. Some of the voting on the site really does annoy me at times. The only solution might be to instigate a debate with an agreed upon panel of judges - people who you know would vote fairly, and say that any other debate should be regarded as a votebomb.
