Are there any debates on this website that are generally accepted to be the cream of the crop? Like, just all around awesome debates. Don't really know how else to specify - I'm just looking to learn some new/interesting stuff and have both sides well represented... I guess debates from those higher up on the "Leader Board" would probably be more likely to be the best. You know, debates that are really intense and epic and well argued...

Or if anyone has personal favorites I welcome those as well.

Preferred subjects: religion, philosophy, economics, history, politics, society, science...

Thanks!

I had a great debate on whether the Mongols could have conquered Europe. History people would love it: [http://www.debate.org...]

I was just hoping that #1 he was being ironic and #2 he wasn't referring to me.

There was a guy named Mikeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee who had this thing about trying to prove that agriculture was mankind's biggest mistake. He created like 4 debates about it and wouldn't shut up about it in the forums.

Hm... weird. USM's resolution made his position, in my opinion, correct. But saying that it was the biggest mistake in general seems .... unusual. At the time of it's inception, it was counterproductive. But c'est la vie! We are humans! We got better at it. And then we got worse at it. And now we're trying to get better at it again! yay!

Why did no one vote on it? It was so interesting.
