Challenge to a Debate

I came up with an idea to spice up debates a little if people so chose. A strategic debate would be a debate where each side has a condition upon which they must debate under which isn't traditional to debates to make things more interesting.

For example:

Con gets to throw out one of Pro's points but Pro doesn't have to use sources.

Something like that. Add a condition to the debate.

Pro has to use 5 government sources. Con has to use 5 blog sources.

It was just a thought. The idea could have a lot of possibilities and could be a fun way to challenge yourself or just have a new way to debate.

Thoughts? Comments? Ideas?

You could label the debate Strategic: Resolution Here and name the conditions you come up with in the first round.
The wise have eyes in their heads, while the fool walks in the darkness; but I came to realizethat the same fate overtakes them both.
Then I said to myself,
"The fate of the fool will overtake me also.
What then do I gain by being wise?"
I said to myself, "This too is meaningless."
For the wise, like the fool, will not be long remembered;
the days have already come when both have been forgotten.
Like the fool, the wise too must die!

Because, it'd be interesting. There are a lot of people on here who are bored of debating. It was just an idea you know.

I like it, especially the idea of each party throwing out one of their opponent's arguments or some such. The possibilities are endless.

It seems like it might be fun for the debaters, but a turnoff for voters. I wouldn't gain anything from a debate where one side needed no sources, or arguments were legally ignored. So, I personally wouldn't be motivated to vote on one.

You only have 98 votes anyway. Let's do this thing.

Exactly.

And in response to Ike: These debates necessarily wouldn't be for a win or a serious vote. Hence why it would be labeled "Strategic". If you see a debate with that in the title don't read/vote on it.

I feel like this would add a twist to debates.
I'm willing to try out the system with someone...

I'll try my own idea out but I'm currently in a handful of debates. I need to resolve a few first.
