3 Questions for any member:
1. Has DDO had any benefit to you personnally?
2. Has DDO changed your world view?
3. How do you rate the general topics on this site?

To be fair, I should answer them myself.
1. I have learned how to properly look at each view and debate with understanding of each.
2. NO. It has helped learn other views and why people choose them.
3. I think alot of topics are very childish here along with numerous members. I sometimes forget we have actual children here. Though in the most part the discussions here are very good to me.

It has passed the time for me. I have come across good arguments and expanded my views.

2. Has DDO changed your world view?

I'm more moderate than I used to be. Partially to DDO, partially to other sites and experiences.

DDO is cool because it gives me a chance to debate and express my opinions especially about controversial subjects. I am too non-controversial to spontaneously debate in person and don't really have the time to join a formal debate club. For example, at school I often get approached by "Jesus" people and they give me pamphlets on why I am going to hell. I just smile and say thanks man. But, it is cool to have a place to express opinions.

2. Has DDO changed your world view?

16kadams has prob made me a little more against gun control. I am more for gay rights than before, now identify as atheist instead of agnostic, identify with the progressive political ideology from left leaning undecided.

It has expanded by views, and hugely improved my debating skills.

2. Has DDO changed your world view?

I went from a hardcore Liberal/ leaning Social Democrat to a Centrist. I am now against Single payer, affirmative action, border fences, social security, medicare and medicaid, and civil unions, and I'm more libertarian. So DDO has influenced my political opinions.
"The solution [for Republicans] is to admit that Bush was a bad president, stop this racist homophobic stuff, stop trying to give most of the tax cuts to the rich, propose a real alternative to Obamacare that actually works, and propose smart free market solutions to our economic problems." - Distraff

It keeps me from being bored in the summer.

2. Has DDO changed your world view?

No.

3. How do you rate the general topics on this site?

The topics are interesting, but the members and their perspectives are moreso.

Probably.

2. Has DDO changed your world view?

I'm still a Christian, but views within that have changed.

3. How do you rate the general topics on this site?

I don't know.

By the way, your answer to number two grabbed my attention. Your capitalization of "NO." strikes me as a "OF COURSE NOT." type thing, which makes me think you think it would be terrible if your views were to change. If so, can I ask why? If not, sorry for reading too much into it, haha.

Not really

2. Has DDO changed your world view?
I have gotten more to the left. Used to be ultra-conservative, then I got more moderate/libertarian-ish

3. How do you rate the general topics on this site?
Lot's of spam, but good threads too.

I feel that I am a lot more comfortable being who I am and it has helped me to grow as a person and help me to explore what I believe.

2. Has DDO changed your world view?

Sure. When I first joined DDO, I was a flaming liberal close to socialist/green and now I'm a Ron Paul supporting Libertarian :D

3. How do you rate the general topics on this site?

I would say average. I think there could be a lot better topics and less repitiion of the same topics (i.e., God's existence)

Other than fortifying my bullsh!t detector, it has probably decreased my enjoyment in life. Its siren song has attracted me to starting multiple debates that eventually conflict with my schoolwork, plans, and relationships. Why I place a higher value on finishing a debate than finishing homework is ridiculous.

2. Has DDO changed your world view?
I came to this site as a Ron Paul supporting Libertarian who thought government was the cause of most problems in the economy, but we need a government for certain services; now I'm a Libertarian Anarchist who thinks government per se is immoral, unnecessary, and inherently dangerous.

I'm still an atheist, but now I have a better rational framework for that belief.

3. How do you rate the general topics on this site?
6,000 inches, which is approximately 2 Earth years
There needs to be more discussions on original topics, but on average the topics are relatively interesting. Every once and a while you'll find an incredibly hilarious thread or a really wise and intelligent thread, so it's worth it.

It's about competition... and this site is like crack, in many ways.

It helps me express my opinion and formulate defenses for them. No need to explain.

2. Has DDO changed your world view?

The site encouraged me to read books on many topics. Making me more right on many issues.

I dunno

I joined this site as a Ron Paul Libertarian; now I'm a Gary Johnson/Ron Paul Libertarian with a traditionalist streak in regards to the constitution. DDO has reaffirmed many of my beliefs and has allowed me to back up those beliefs with logical arguments. Since joining DDO I've gone from a non-practicing Christian to an agnostic that believes that there is a supreme being responsible for the creation of the universe, but that we don't have the tools to prove of disprove the nature of that supreme being.
