I've seen it done here before, and I'm just wondering why it is allowed and whether it is frowned upon.

It was formerly allowed...as you should notice, members generally can't (and are not encouraged) do so.

That's the most concise way I can convey here.

Often those who have the ability to vote have an advantage over those who do not. I've lost some debates only because my opponent's voted for themselves - Clearly not a fair way of determining the winner.

What...thats crazy, I never knew you could do that?

I was just looking at some old debates and I noticed someone had voted for themself (awarding themself all 7 points) and that was the only reason that they won the debate. I've seen it other times before, but I never thought much about it.

It's not allowed anymore, is it? When it was allowed, though, and when someone believed they won, why not? Presidents do it and I'll be damned if I let someone tell me I can't be president.

Because non-Americans had no opportunity to do the same. It gave them a disadvantage.
