The funniest thing I remember about the internet was how long pages would take to load. It was torturous, especially when it was a women; "Wait I see something, oh no not that... wait there!"

You kids got it easy.

Lol I do. That was just about the time voting went public. On about page three you can see where Kleptin was trying to stop the "Calling you out Votebombers" threads.

Those were some fun times, every body hating on everyone cause of votes. I think that single change made more difference in DDO then any other.

Miscellaneous was the game forum.
It came to be at its height. It was commanded to command. It was a capital before its first stone was laid. It was a monument to the spirit of man.

Hell, in my day we didn't even have a forum. People just chatted in the comment section of debates. Now get off my lawn.

From what I can see, DDO was at least an intellectual site that catered to more refined sensibilities, albeit casually (at least in certain parts of the forums).

Alas, that edition of DDO is now defunct...

The WayBack Machine is a web site that keeps old versions of what was on the internet. It's useful for tracking down web pages that were deleted since you saved a link to them.

By subtracting my debate record in the earlier snapshot from my current record I can see improvement in recent years. That's kind of interesting. Better than going downhill.
