What I am asking is that if I copy and paste an argument and edit it for non-commercial use is this okay for this site?

No. You've either got to put it in your own words, or put it in quotes unaltered and provide a citation.

No. You need to understand the concept and type it in your own words.

Yeah, you can put it in quotes, but unless you understand the concept, I would advise against it. I hate it when people misquote others. I've seen people use quotes that argued against their point, in support of their point; that' what happens when you don't understand the concept.

Yes, in fact it is encouraged in debate. Arguments in the form of direct quotes from sources are called cards. You DO have to properly cite the source though.

Championship debater, CiRrk, points out that we should "Prefer the direct quotation method as opposed to the paraphrasing method. The direct quote method is preferable because it prevents manipulation of the evidence and gives the most direct author indicated argument possible. Paraphrasing has the bad effect of users debating off-site where one simply has to paraphrase a premise." http://www.debate.org...
