Verifiability Versus Falsifiability

I saw this thread and thought it was rather interesting:

When you guys read debates, do you primarily look for proponents to prove their points, or for opponents to disprove their points?

The problem with falsifiability is it allows for indefinite harassment. People can simply proclaim things to be true or valid just because they say so.

If judges don't take account of this, debates can get out of hand very rapidly where people utter nonsense and expect the right to enslave others' minds.

Both should provide evidence. One for, one against. Balance the evidence.

The voting is based on far more than that though (spelling/grammar, sources and conduct etc.)
