Change your avatar to a person who you think of as a personal hero!

What is a personal hero?

Someone who inspires you, whose life and actions make you want to be a better person. A personal hero could be a national leader or close friend, a parent or a sibling, a celebrity or simply someone who you look up to.

Say below who you chose, and why if you would like to explain your choice.

I've got Hillary.

Do they have to be real people?

I suppose not, actually. A hero could be a fictional character, from Beowulf to Jack Bauer.

No, cat Hitler. The difference being one of them massacred millions of people, and the other is my hero.

Lucius Cornelius Sulla. The brilliant general who, when offered ultimate power over the grandest empire on the face of the planet, used it to reform the political system, crush those who had attempted to usurp power, and then gave it all up to retire with his boyfriend.
"The Collectivist experiment is thoroughly suited (in appearance at least) to the Capitalist society which it proposes to replace. It works with the existing machinery of Capitalism, talks and thinks in the existing terms of Capitalism, appeals to just those appetites which Capitalism has aroused, and ridicules as fantastic and unheard-of just those things in society the memory of which Capitalism has killed among men wherever the blight of it has spread."

I really think that Doubting Thomas is the way forward at this point.

Of course this is already done as my hero is my avatar.
Live for the present, for it is a gift.

I surveyed 100 women and asked them what shampoo they used when showering, 98 of them said: How the hell did you get in here?

Beowulf to Jack Bauer.

Awful book, had to read it for AP English Literature and Composition. There's a great scene in Woody Allen's Annie Hall, in which his girlfriend, Annie, is thinking of taking some adult education courses. Woody Allen tells her that's great, "just don't take a class where they make you read BEOWULF." If you mention BEOWULF to someone, invariably they'll moan, recalling a battle they lost in school with Old English. The poem gets a lot of flak, which I think is due either to the quality of the teaching or to a bad translation they were forced to read.
