No one can find out whose post was the 100,000th reasonably anyway barring a very unlikely circumstance.
It came to be at its height. It was commanded to command. It was a capital before its first stone was laid. It was a monument to the spirit of man.

Speaking of school.....Physics is really getting at me again, leet. Our teacher is really bad at teaching, and gives us incredibly tough problems on the quizzes. I did horribly on the one today, and it accounts for like one third of our grade. We are doing work and energy. They're not that bad, it's just that the teacher doesn't teach well and slams up with tests. How'd you get by?

I stand corrected. Post 1337 was something about how wierd it is that we debate so much on the forum. Post 9001 was me and DCB going at it over omnipotence.

That sucks dude. Unfortunately (and it was the same with whatever you were having trouble with last time we discussed it, though I forget what that was), work and energy are as basic as concepts in physics can get, and they are the foundation for most work you'll be doing in years to come should you continue doing physics (which I would recommend... it's so interesting and fun once you get the hang of it!).

I know man, the difference between physics being really easy (in high school at least) and really hard is a good teacher. A good textbook can also make a massive difference... if you can talk your mother into it (it's quite expensive from what I recall from first year of uni), you should get hold of a textbook called University Physics from Young and Freedman. Excellent book, so much so that I emailed the pair at the end of first year of uni to thank them. Check your school or town library for a copy.

How'd you get by?

I found the concepts you're dealing with right now difficult at first, as I think everyone does, but there is a method to every physics problem and once you get the hang of it there is no problem you can't work out with enough time and effort. Some basic tips: ALWAYS draw a free-body diagram, even if the problem is easy to picture. Write EVERY piece of information you've been given in the problem on your diagram so that you don't need to look at the words of the problem to nut it out... they'll only get in the way of the physics. Wikipedia (believe it or not) is a great tool for the concepts you're learning, and the links at the bottom of the page are usually helpful.

Really, as far as energy and work go, there are only a few equations/concepts you need to remember and visualize and you should be able to do the most difficult of problems. Good luck my man... I wish I could help you further. In fact, if you are ever stuck on a particular problem, feel free to send it to me via PM and I'd be glad to talk it through with you. :)
