This is a great site; it'd be great if it were made available in other languages.

Nowadays translating a site can easily be crowdsourced (e.g. crowdtranslator, translia, crowdin). With user-generated content sistes such as this, it can be done for free by crowdsourcing it from the users (along with content itself, which is also crowdsourced, btw).

In particular, I'd like to see a Brazilian Portuguese version of the site.

Wasn't there another thread exactly like this, made by another noob?

Not a bad idea. And I rarely say that.

Thanks, Mysterious_Stranger.

Just found an even easier, quicker fix: check out how procon.org uses in-page Google translate to quickly translate any page to dozens of languages. Probably not perfect, but a very easy solution. Even better is to Google-translate the site, and use crowdsourcing to let users correct it (there always are some nitpickers like me in the crowd who can't help but to dot i's and cross t's).

If you have Chrome and English isn't the default language, it WILL offer to translate the page or site for you. Not the stuff in the headers (like "Debate.org," "Debates," "Opinions," "Forums"), but certainly the stuff that matters.

Sure, I know; but then one has to translate every single page. It ain't the same as having a multi-language website.

It's not really effective, though: http://www.debate.org...

cool. I've always used search site:debate.org "search words".
Where do you find that on the site?
Or is this something that works on any site, that you can just type /google/ after the site name?

Translators are usually inaccurate and fail to account for the proper verbs and contexts. I've had people in my Spanish class use translators and end up writing and saying absurd things. I don't see any need to have this website in a foreign language anyways.

I take it you mean auto-translators, not the profession (C: That's why I suggested complementing auto-translation with crowdsourcing corrections from users ;)

I see... do you fear it may fall in the wrong hands of foreign folk? ;D
