Yes, you do lose elo points if you lose. There's an equation for it somewhere.

Here's the equation.

W = winner's original ELO
L = loser's original ELO
D = change in ELO

D = 100*(W+9L)/10W

And there is a 25 point instigator advantage (meaning the instigator gets +25 and the contender gets -25).

So unless you instigate a debate and the contender is someone with an ELO of 6 times yours, you will lose ELO points if you lose.
I'm becoming less defined as days go by, fading away, and well you might say, I'm losing focus, kinda drifting into the abstract in terms of how I see myself.

You really are an idiot. That's how DDO's ELO system works.

No you don't. I'll explain.

First, let's assume both debaters have an ELO of 2000, and you are the instigator. You lose.

By the equation I showed:

D = 100*(2000+(9*2000))/(10*2000)
D = 100

You, as the instigator, have a 25 point advantage. You lose 75 ELO, your opponent gains 75 ELO. That's how the equation works.

D = 100

You, as the instigator, have a 25 point advantage. You lose 75 ELO, your opponent gains 75 ELO. That's how the equation works.

No way dude! The aim of debating is to lose isn't it?!

In your twisted mind it mat be.

Elo is not an acronym. You should format it as Elo not ELO.

That's your objection? You really are a joke.

Of course I'm a joke. I'mt he best joke God ever told! :D

I meant joke as in, "A person or thing inspiring ridicule or amusement." (http://www.thefreedictionary.com...).

I meant joke as in "LOLOLOLOLOLOL!" (HTTP://TEEHEE.COM...)

Are you drunk or what? I think you and Andoctuir are two drunks that roam about here...//
