I was going through debates in the voting period cause I felt like casting votes for once, and I noticed that a sh**load of them were full forfeits by both sides. In fact there were more full forfeited debates by both sides then there were debates where one side actually even managed to hold out...... After seeing this and being frustrated by the lack of actual debates to vote on when I finally felt like voting on something, I had an idea that I wanted to get DDO's opinion on:

Should debates where BOTH sides forfeit the last 2 or more rounds in a debate be automatically deleted so that they dont clog up the voting section?

I didnt make this as a poll because I actually wanna hear feedback from people and be able to respond to their feedback as well, and I didnt put this as an opinion because lets face it, nobody likes to go in the opinions section.

We can already delete these debates. Although, having it automatic would save the trouble.

I'd just like to take this moment to point out we should have a "no winner" option.

We do. Just don't vote.

I vote 0 points to either side, and call it a "FAIL," as the required comments. Thus moving it out of the priority search category.

I approve of this measure. I would add to it:

If one opponent forfeits two or more rounds and the other debater posts every round, the debate does not go to voting, but is automatically counted a win for the active debater.

These two measures would clear about 80% of the junk debates out of the voting pool.

We do. Just don't vote.

But that makes it a tie. I don't want a tie. I certainly don't want people to earn the right to vote by forfeiting three debates. I want the debate frozen or deleted, with ELO (or whatever) points deleted.

Okay, better yet (but preferably in addition): We should be able to limit who can accept our debate challenges based on how many forfeits they have.

I can imagine various ways of working this. The cutoff could be a percentage of all your debates, or it could be in terms of number of rounds forfeited per number of years of membership. Or it could just be a number. "You may not accept this debate if you ever forfeited a round."

For some people, this would be motivation. We'd get fewer forfeits.

I thought he meant when two debaters are so exceptionally good that both of them are at an equal footing, therevshould be an option to acknowledge that.
