Paragraph bug workaround

For as long as I've been around on DDO, pasting from a Word (or OpenOffice) document into a debate argument has had a problem. Every time the argument is examined in review mode, an extra carriage return is added at the end of each paragraph. Alternately editing and reviewing causes the paragraphs to move further and further apart. Deleting the extra returns helps, but the result is unpredictable. Often you cannot get to less than two returns between paragraphs.

My workaround is to get rid of all the carriage returns before pasting into the insert-from-Word box. In Word, replace ^p with some unusual character like #. In OpenOffice replace $ with /n # The programs use ^p and $ respectively to represent carriage returns. Sometimes the replacement has to be done twice to get them all.

After pasting, go through and manually change all the #'s into carriage returns.

This procedure is a pain, but for me it is considerably less of a pain than coping with the original bug.
